Note: if you are looking at the cabinet door
  • Right Hinge:
    With a cabinet door which has a knob on the right side, the hinge is installed on the left inside of the cabinet. The cabinet door would swing open going towards the person going left.
  • Left Hinge:
    With a cabinet door which has a knob on the left side, the hinge is installed on the right inside of the cabinet. The cabinet door would swing open going towards the person going right.

I needed lift-off hinges for the cover for the back side of the electrical panel on my 43 foot sailboat. These are perfect.

hinges for old encryption machine

The hinges looked good for general use, but for an M4 Enigma machine trying to match something from WWII is hard to do. The hinge plate spacing when folded was too large. I'll use them on a another project sometime.
