I replaced a Lithonia florescent fixture that was similar to this one in my friends mobile home, it was probably over 20 years old. The old fixture had a magnetic ballast, making it heavier, and not as efficient. For its day, it was a well-made fixture. I decided to buy another Lithonia fixture as the fixture I was replacing appeared well-made, and I could not easily find a replacement ballast for the old fixture. This fixture arrived very over-packaged, in a huge box with bubble wrap. The only disappointment was a lack of instructions, the only instructions were very skimpy, and were printed on the box. Nevertheless, it wasn't hard to figure out how to replace the fixture, though it did not come with mounting screws. I did have to go back to my house to find a piece of wire so I could extend the ground wire further. Overall, I was very pleased when I turned the fixture back on with the quantity of light given, and the fixture is energy-star rated, saving a bit of energy with the new electronic ballast (instead of the magnetic), and will not tend to "hum" like some magnetic ballasts tended too, plus gives out a bit more light.
Cheap product. Cover slot did not line up with hole in the body. The provided twist catch could not be used. Instead I used a catch from another manufacturers fixture and was able to make it work. I ordered and installed 2 units (double bulb, 3 ft. long) and both had the same problem.
