These are beautiful fixtures - the mahogany finish is modern - simple but elegant in a way that would work with a lot of different styles of furnishings. My very good electrician (I didn't try to install them myself because they were part of a bigger remodeling job) had a little bit of trouble leveling them but eventually sorted it out.He has worked with H-F lights in the past and had this issue before but he does agree that are quality and look great.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We hung this light at the top of the stairs in a very limited ceiling area. It looks stylish, well designed and appropriate and provides ample light for our needs. It could be "dressed up" or "dressed down" according to the location and look of the rest of the decor. We are very happy with it. Would definitely recommend to others.
