one sizable flaw but well priced...
I was pretty happy when I opened the box. The fixture was well-packaged and came with all of the hardware necessary to install it. It's pretty well made and looks good installed. The only challenge is installation, which requires a lot of finesse and patience which can be hard when you're holding the fixture over your head. The first step, screwing the mounting bracket into the junction box, is a snap. The problem is attaching the fixture to the bracket. You have to push the bolts through the fiberglass insulation and try to locate them over two holes barely larger than the bolt. After you do that you may find the bolts are too long or too short. In a cost cutting move the bolts are not slotted so in order to adjust them you have to lower the fixture and repeat the process of finding the tiny holes since they give you a fancy cap nut that no one sees but cannot secure the fixture to the ceiling unless the bolt length is just right.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

adds depth
Purchased two of these for two small hallways with lower ceilings than most of the house. All of my other lights belong to a 'family' that does not offer a small, single lamp, ceiling mount. I selected these because the finish matches my other lights and the glass nearly matches those lights, while offering the compact size and single bulb for small spaces. In addition, one of the light fixtures had to be short enough for a door to swing under it in a basement (7' ceilings), and these fit that criteria as well. I was a little nervous about getting lights that were not part of the 'family' in the rest of the house. However, after installing these lights, I believe they are nearly a perfect match and the variation in the glass would go un-noticed, especially when they are on. As an added benefit, in my small hallways these lights seem to give the optical illusion of a larger fixture and taller ceilings. This gives the impression of greater depth and space!
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
