We put this lamp in the umbrella stand in our built in BBQ, and it is great. It bring the perfect amount of light. It has gotten wet and (most of all) lived through an Arizona summer, and still looks fantastic. It was a little challenging to get in - although I'm not sure my husband actually read the instructions, but now that it is installed, I wouldn't trade it. People love it!
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
