Purchased four pathway lights @ 125.00 each and thay came with these stakes for mounting into the ground. The stakes are not long enough to hold the light at a prefect 90 degree angle, if you bump the light the plastic theads the mount to the light will strip, and on one of them the top cracked. Now I have three sidewalk lights, metal stakes are the way to go!

Ground Stake thread is made of plastic so it cannot support the weight of light after a few months in the ground. High price for a ground spike but there must be something out there with metal thread

Haven't installed these yet and won't until Spring, but they seem sturdy and well made. No instructions or anything. pretty pricey for a plastic stake, but the only thing I found for this purpose. Not quite sure how you pound in a stake when there's a light attached to it...

For the progress lighting pathway light P5263-31 do I need to buy the mounting post and the ground stake? (Does the mounting post attach to the ground stake?)
A:The mounting post does attach to the ground stake which would be sold separately.
