I used indoors in a side wall to help light darkened basement stairway. These units installed very easily in a standard single after market electrical box. Each unit sheds an appropriate amount of light, so they are functional as opposed to purely asthetic.

I used these to light the stairway on a basement home theatre. As the stairway is always dark unless you turn the main lights on, these step lights run 24x7. Never get hot, but are plenty bright.

I installed three of these in a new master bath I built for an elderly couple. I installed them so that the light would not be visible from the bedroom but there would be ample floor lighting in the bath. The clients love them and were very pleased with the extra touch I gave the project.

After looking at way too many, too large, too high wattage stair lights we came across these. The LED's will last decades, save electricity, and provide plenty of light to keep the stairs safe. And they fit into a regular junction boxes. The downside is they're somewhat expensive and hopefully, as LEDs become more commonplace, the price will drop.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
