Unlike a lot of other track kits- this one uses little plastic which gives it a very high quality look. Overall easy to install. The trach is not as flexible as some other light kits, so you can only curve it so far before it "creases"
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought my first set of these about 5 years ago and each transformer and light has had to be replaced due to the Chinese manufs. making the bronze paint covering the tracks non-conductive to the electricity that it needed to carry. Although I have a new set now with larger transformers, the rails are still overheating and individual heads are going out randomly. They were ALL installed by a certified electrician. He warned me that there were probs in the past, but they had been fixed. They were NOT fixed. I wish I had spent a few more $$$ and gotten track lights that lasted longer with fewer problems. I need to replace three tracks of these once again for the second time.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I purchased this fixture as a low budget alternative to replace an ugly florescent light in my galley-style kitchen. It's very bright and allows for directing the bulbs over counters, etc. for great task lighting without the expense of installing recessed lighting. I cannot honestly rate the instructions and assembly as I had someone install it for me. However, he didn't seem to have any difficulty, except he said the screws that it came with were too short and couldn't be used.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great style, great lighting easy to install. Glad I got the 6 bulb light. Track easy to bend into designing shape. Worth every penny and more from what I saw in the lighting stores. Wish I had another place in the house to install another one!
