One thing I was not aware of when ordering this lamp that others would probably interested to know is that the cord to plug in the lamp doesn't come out through the base of the lamp, but rather at the bottom of the upper pole on the lamp. If this were shown in the picture, I probably would have looked at more lamps to see if I could find one with the cord wired to the base. It is, however, a very nice quality lamp, and although that wiring configuration is not what I expected, it was not enough of a detriment to me for me to choose to return it.
