Cheap and flimsy.

I purchased this lamp for its minimalistic modern design. It has 2 settings-low ambiance setting and a higher setting for reading. Given that the bulbs are Halogen it does give off a different illumination than incandescent or fluorescent. It is a mellow illumination. If you're looking for higher brightness then you'll need an additional lamp. I have a large living room with vaulted ceilings so this floor lamp has its limitations in fully illuminating the room and I will need to get a second lamp. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and feel the lamp is a very cool design addition to my living room.
