Outdoor pendants enhance a home’s beauty, safety and security.
First, make sure you buy an outdoor pendant. Those indicated as safe for wet locations will be safe when installed outside. Then consider the climate and weather where you live. If the pendant will be exposed to salty sea air or high winds, make sure to get a study material that will withstand the weather.
Begin by turning off the electricity, and then assemble the pendant according to the manufacturer instructions. Try to get as many pieces together as possible before climbing the ladder. Climb the ladder and screw the fixture cross bar to the electrical box. Connect the power supply wires and attach the bare copper wire to the green ground screw. Push the wires back into the ceiling box and mount the pendant according to the manufacturer ’s instructions. Turn on the electricity.
Outdoor pendants come in a variety of sizes and styles, ranging from modern to rustic to match your décor style.
Outdoor pendants indicated as “Dark Sky” follow industry standards for reducing light pollution. These lamps cast light downward only so they only produce the amount of light needed and do not interfere with the ability to see the night sky.
