On South Main Street in the historic village of Old Salem, North Carolina, the Winkler Bakery has been in continuous, operation since 1800. This functional birdhouse is intended for outdoor use, but when used as a decorative piece, the hinged roof lifts up so that the house becomes a gift box to be filled with your own homemade baked goods. A small pin on the left side will secure the roof in the down position when used outdoors. The Bee-Hive oven on the right is an exacting detail of the actual, working oven.
- Constructed of exterior grade ply-board, pine roof shingles and poly resin details.
- Western Red Cedar or Pine shingles for the roof
- Outdoor, non-toxic paint.
