I bought two white Midway Eco Ceiling fans for my Great Room area.
I was looking for two things: 1. Clean contemporary style.
2. Energy Efficiency. I think I found what I was looking for. The fans look great and so far perform very well.
Because they are so efficient I didn't have to add electrical capacity.
I had an electrician install them. I think it would be difficult for most people to install them even with help.

I like the fan by itself, but because there are only 2 leads going into it, there is no way to control the light separately except through the remote control. That means that you cannot use a vacancy switch on the light, or it will turn off the fan too, which is not what you want for climate control when there's nobody in the room, or when you're asleep.

Tried to control it through a 3rd-party radio control solution, but Emerson refuses to provide any information about the control signal.

I have got 6 of these fans, and it would cost too much to return them. But if I knew what I know now, I would buy something else.

We like it but need to know how to replace the remote in case it is lost.

It's a powerful fan and whisper-quiet. But the fluorescent light is very strong and the dimmer button does not dim, only turns the light on and off. Maybe we wired something wrong - trying to get answers. Would be nice if it came with a sleeve that can be attached to the wall to store the remote so it doesn't get lost -- no way to control the fan w/o the remote.
