Recently renovated our 25'Lx18'Wx11'H sunroom and installed two of these fans on 3 foot down rods. These fans make the room, and receive compliments from everyone. The impact is stunning! The soft light from the amber domes make the environment very inviting which is just the look we were going for. The grate on top was an unexpected plus and casts an interesting shadowy lighting on the ceiling. Quality of construction is top notch, though the price is a bit high. Since I do all my own home renovations saving lots of $'s, I could justify the high price of these fans. Fanimation differentiates themselves with innovative designs you just dont see with Hunter or Casablanca, which is what attracted me to this fan.
Overall it is a great fan, beautiful, perfectly quiet and balanced. It arrived in perfect condition and went up smoothly. There are two main glitches in my mind. First, the light is VERY dim. It came with 3, 40 watt chandelier bulbs and I replaced them with 60w, but the light is still only "mood" lighting, at best. Second, which is more of a personal issue, there is an ornate "grate" on the top of the light fixture that you can't see in the photo, that makes the light shine in a beautiful pattern on your ceiling. BUT, when the light and fan are both on, the light "flashes" as the blades turn- sort of like a strobe light effect. The effect makes me dizzy and I can't turn on both at the same time. Had I known there was light shining up through the blades before I bought it, I would not have gotten it. That is always an issue for me with ceiling fans. Other than that, it is a solid, beautiful fan- hopefully worth the money.
This fan was back ordered for many weeks but I'm glad we waited! It's a very good quality fan and seems to be working well. It was very well packaged too. Thanks!
