Shades look like plastic, but they're not. Parts bend easily - thin metal. Sorry I bought a matching one also. They were inexpensive, which I like a good bargain. But these look cheap too.

We love the look of our chandlier that we installed over our dining room table. The only disappointment was that there is a knob on the side of the main part that allows you to change from one middle light, the outer four lights or all lights. However, the knob is large and really detracts from the look of the chandelier. We had to position the light so that the knob is facing a corner that doesn't have much traffic, so that it isn't noticable.

The Chanderlier is cute and different.
