I purchased this light almost two years ago for my (then) new contemporary home in Potomac MD. Everyone who comes to our house comments on how elegant and striking the light is. It's a little tricky to get the frame flat and square, but worth it.

This is a great light for ambient lighting over a dining room table. However, there is no down light, so if people want to multi- task at the table, some type of desk light will be needed.
The instructions were terrible. I have noticed that it has gone up in price since I bought mine. I don't know if I would pay $700 for it.
