We bought one of these for a closet and loved it so much that we decided to get three more to replace old globe lights in our other closets. It feels solid when turning it on and off and isn't in the way when pulling things off shelves (unlike a globe light). Highly recommend this fixture for closets and other small spaces where a pull chord fixture is necessary.

Can this fixture be plugged in or does it need to be installed? A:This fixture can not be plugged in. It can only be hard wired.

Can this fixture be operated by a door switch? A:You can use a 'door jam switch' with this item, however they do not make them and you would have to have an electrician install and wire it that way. These come with bulbs and he said that if you want to use this door jam switch application then you can use a regular under cabinet light, you don't necessarily need a CUC light; you could use this instead: 5318816S (ATG #). But this does not come with bulbs.
