The fan itself is rather nice looking, appears to have real bamboo decorative cover over motor housing, but the blades are the cheapest looking plastic I have seen. We did keep the fan, because they were going to charge us $60.00 restocking fee, and once you hang it, it does not look as bad from a distance, but I will be on the look out to replace the blades with something more natural looking. I suspect the higher your ceiling the more acceptable the look of the blades. Not quite worth what we paid in my opinion.

The only thing that I noticed was that in the picture the blades look like true bamboo or wood but they are actually plastic. You can't tell if you have a high ceiling but up close you can definitely tell it's plastic. I just decorated a Thai restraunt w these fans and they look superb!
