One of the few lamps I could find high enough to illuminate from above a computer monitor. Love the way it takes up little space on the desktop with its slim design. Some reviewers complained about the insufficient light it emitted but I only found that to SEEM to be the case for the one hour in the early morning when my office is flooded with direct sunlight. Otherwise, the second or third setting works fine. Interesting design, love the red color. Yes, it's overpriced but a whole lot nicer on the eyes than most of the computer lights out there. Very fast delivery.

I had purchased one of the older Z Bars as a desk lamp for my boat. I needed a light that would be bright enough to work without causing heating in the small cabin used as an office and its folding ability made it ideal as there is a pullman bunk above the desk.

I purchased this one as I needed a clamp light for a combo desk/drafting table for my artwork and most of the art specific lamps put out too much UV for me to work under since I suffer from systemic lupus.

Was looking for a bright light, but something cool. Had halogen lights before, and liked their brightness, but did not like that they got really hot. I was impressed that this light is very well made. Feels relatively sturdy. Parts fit well. Doesn't feel cheap. The base is solid and pretty heavy giving stability. The ability to flex the arms and rotate the head gives this lamp a lot of flexibility for positioning. I think this light works great for focused light on a laptop computer or if you were reading a book. The arms hold their positions. So far, so good. It was expensive, especially with the shipping. But given the quality of the product, and that it feels well made, seems to be a fair price.
