The chair is made of the beautiful non-endangered Mahogany Shorea, a hardwood growing naturally and plentifully in Asia Pacific protected forests. In Asia Pacific, it shorea has been the wood of choice for centuries in shipbuilding, furniture, houses, and many other uses. Because of its hardness and the natural oils present in the wood, shorea products are extremely resistant to fungi, termites, rot and decay. In addition, the wood is also carefully kiln-dried prior to production.

I received two different chairs. The arms are different and one has a cross bar under the seat, the other does not!The slats are ten on one chair and thirteen on the other one.Also the slats have a different thickness.The chairs should have been the same, since I ordered both at the same time.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
