I purchased this doorbell for its looks, and though it is a bit dark, I was able to highlight it with some gold paint. I didn't install it, but the friend who did had no problems. It has a pleasant, loud "ding-dong," which is easy to hear no matter what part of the house I'm in.

The chime itself is very ornate and beautifully detailed. The color of this beauty isn't so much an antique brass as it is perhaps closer to an antique nickel -- no matter. It's truly a great quality door chime and the best looking one I could find!

This looks great, not an eye soar sound great too.
