When I first received this item I was very disappointed with it. Instead of being white, like I thought, it was more of a cream color. I bought it to put on a red door and be an attraction for those coming into my "For Sale" home. Because the woodpecker is in an upside down position, you really couldn't tell at a glance what it was. But instead of returning it I pulled some pictures of woodpeckers off the internet; got my paints and brushes out and give him a red head, put some black in between the "white" feathers; painted his tail, beak, and eyes black. Now it looks like a woodpecker! Am I an artist? Far from it, so if you like this doorknocker, buy it. If I can do it you can too. And the best part is, it works like a doorknocker.
