Du Verre Hardware is made from brass, iron or aluminum.  The hardware is manufactured by hand in small batches using the traditional sand-cast method.
Each master pattern is pressed into a small casting box containing a mixture of sand and molasses then poured by hand into the individual molds. In moments, the metal hardens. The piece is then released from the sand and ready for finishing. Craftsmen painstakingly clean and polish each piece. The result is a one of a kind, hand finished original. The small variations inherent in this process give a warmth and beauty to every piece that cannot be achieved in any other way.
