Lock Up
Burglars prefer to break into a home through a door because it is quick and easy. Having a good quality lock is the best deterrent against break-ins.

A burglar can enter the home through a door using several methods:
  • Door locks can be picked.
  • Door locks can be hammered off.
  • Doors can be pried open.
  • Door locks can be "drilled out" using a power drill.
  • Locks can be pried off with pipe wrenches or pliers.
  • Panes of glass in or beside doors can be broken so to reach the lock.
The intruder will usually select the door that looks easiest to break into and that offers the least chance of being seen. So, doors going into the garage offer an intruder the best opportunity to hide from view while they attempt to break in.  The easiest solution is to make sure that each entry door is properly equipped with a good quality lock.
