Bought this as a side table for a covered lanai in Florida. The black part is extruded aluminum painted a flat black with sanded edges to give it a distressed look. It's light-weight and well-designed. Perfect for its intended use. Might even add another. Easy to assemble. I'm happy!

However, several small scratches on top. Didn't notice until I had it all put together-which took a while, so I did not return it. It was packaged well, so unsure why the scratches.
