I am returning this lamp because of poor quality. This lamp has a nice shade, solid base and sturdy aluminum poles. However, the manufacturer used extremely low grade plastic swivel pieces at the elbow and a the top. In comparison with the rest of the lamp, the plastic parts stick out like a sore thumb -- they have that spray-painted "chrome" appearance you find on really cheap dollar store toys. I may have ignored the plastic if the swivels actually worked but the swivel mechanisms are not strong enough to hold the lamp at an angle, which was my original purpose for selecting this particular lamp.
