I ordered the lamp in black nickel, and it should be renamed. It is slightly darker than antique nickel, leaning more toward gray than black. Nonetheless, it was beautiful enough to not return, and I'm more than satisfied with the look and the function. The 3-way switch gives convenient lighting level choices, and switch is well-located and easy to use. It is sturdy and well made. If you're in the market for a contemporary look without being too extreme, this is a gorgeous choice.

One bothersome thing: The lamp itself was quite dirty when unpacked for assembly. It must have been stored in a dusty-as-heck warehouse, and it required a lot of cleaning of the metal parts. The shade was unscathed, however. Must have been stored elsewhere.

I bought the black brass finish Monolith Floor Lamp. It has a great finish, and is of top quality. This is my second floor lamp, and third in this lamp family. Not cheap, but very good quality. Buy one, you'll be happy.
