I purchased this fixture expecting 200 watts of light. The fixture is rated for a 200W halogen T3 bulb that is 4 11/16 in length. This bulb type is not available at standard hardware or big box stores. The bulbs must be special ordered and cost is approx. $11.00 per bulb, plus shipping. The highest wattage available locally is 150 Watts.
The bulb that was sent with the fixture, while marked as a 200W halogen gave off little light, so immediately had to go in search of a new bulb.
Fixture arrived missing parts which took two weeks to replace.
The glass cover is very opaque. The brightness is reduced to approximately the brightness of a single 60 Watt incandescent bulb with the glass and safety cover intact. Removing the safety cover over the bulb does not increase the brightness.
Plan to spend an additional 100.00+ if you choose to cut new glass to increase the brightness of the fixture.
Fixture is extremely difficult to mount due to weight and design. Recommend getting lock nuts and washers to use with the screws that hold the fixture to the mounting place.
The fixture puts out a lot of heat. Please make sure that the installer does not remove any of the insulation that is stacked between the mounting plate and the fixture. Difficult mounting makes it tempting to do so.
Due to waiting upon replacement parts and special order bulbs, the 30 day return period was exhausted. I therefore spent additional money to modify the glass in the fixture to make it usable.
PLC lighting ships every order, no matter how small, requiring a signiture for delivery. The only option is to be home or change the delivery status after the first delivery attempt. This adds an extra day to receiving the items.
While the ATG store customer service was helpful. They were not able to answer questions necessary to deal with glass and bulb issues.PLC lighting has no available phone number or email for customer service.
Beautiful fixture and great service from ATG! My only issue (and it is not reflective of ATG or the fixture itself) is that it was REALLY expensive, as I live in Canada. The price was almost $100 more with shipping/duties. Still worth it though!
