I was very apprehensive about buying it without having seeing it in a shop first, but the quality and finish are great. we are very happy. the canopy installation was a little tricky, but manageable with some patience. Also, the the stem and canopy allow for installation on a sloped ceiling,but if installing on a flat ceiling, it's a little weird: There's a small gap between the stem and the canopy. I was freaked out at first, but looked around lighting stores, and it's apparently pretty standard.
so overall, very pleased and the glass casts very nice and even light.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    A: The canopy can be attached to a ceiling with up to a 30 degree slope.
