I only rated this fixture with one star because I wanted a semi-flush mount and, although this is shown as a semi-flush mount, but it must be hung with the chain. I ended up using one link from the chain to hang this fixture because I really did not want a hanging fixture. There were also no directions for hanging it flush to the ceiling. That should have been my first warning that the chain must be used.
The quality of the light fixture was excellent. For hanging the light from a chain, the directions were good. For a hanging fixture I would have rated it as 5 stars!
