We put this fixture over our breakfast table and it's just what we needed. The fixture is well made and provides plenty of light without being too much. Our electrician said it installed well, had all necessary parts (with some spares) and was a good product.

I bought two of these lights hoping they would work in my kitchen, but the fixture was out of proportion to the room, and I have been trying to return them for days. Finally I reached the company by phone and was informed that these lights were non-returnable, and I am stuck with beautiful but unusable lights worth a little less than $400.00. The information should be clearly stated at checkout; instead it must be in fine print somewhere in the ordering process.

I would recommend buying from YLighting.com or LampsPlus.com. I am sorry to give up using Lighting Universe, but we are redoing an old house, and I can't afford to try items that cannot be returned if they are not what you hoped.

This is a very well made and attractive light. Although it looks somewhat traditional in the catalog, I selected it because of its clean design -- and classic/contemporary look -- it casts a wide light over the kitchen table. Several people have noticed "Oh, you have a new light -- how beautiful!" The only problem is that I don't know how one cleans the glass...

I also like the fact that the cord fits through the nickel tube -- very sleek, but again, I have no idea how to dismantle it for cleaning.
