I am retired and I thoroughly enjoy doing counted cross stitch and had to give it up because I couldn't see my work any longer. I purchased this 7" magnifying lens plus the floor stand and it solved my problem. It has been one of my best investments. I now can sit in my recliner with my lap stand and do what I love doing. I strongly suggest the floor stand that goes with this lamp to protect your back and be comfortable at the same time.
