The Lafayette three lamp island pendant features a Toasted Sienna with Golden Fawn finish. The silhouette of the Lafayette fixtures illustrates the break from the formal, compass curved outlines of the French Baroque period. The emerging new style of chandeliers at the beginning of the 18th century was characterized by a free flowing open framework that allowed the light sources to pass through the fixture. The applied foliage decoration, in the form of inverted acanthus leaves and the delicate meandering vine motif between the double scrolled candle arms have been purposely given a golden finish. Traditionally, the gilding of exquisite metal details on chandeliers was not only to accent them but also to prevent their tarnishing. Contemporary finishes on any metal today can inhibit this process, but the allure of gold for its decorative enrichment will never go out of style.

Colorful or uniquely patterned glass diffusers are typically hand made and, as such, will exhibit some variation in both color and pattern.
Such variations should be considered normal and indicative of hand crafting rather than machine production. |
