We bought two of these fixtures last year to light a stairway to our basement. We were finishing the stairwell with sheetrock, painting and preparing to make it into a picture gallery. The fixtures are just perfect, giving light in all directions.
Now, we've bought four more to light our musician son's control room in his studio. He wants them because they're functional and attractive. He's very pleased too!
