I chose the SATIN finish over BLACK or WHITE because in the photo IT REALLY LOOKED LIKE a natural brushed aluminum finish. Was surprised to find a dark silver painted finish. Thought about returning them, then realized I didn't buy the higher priced version with the compact flourescent bulbs, so these were ok for the price paid. Might've prefered the white if I'de known it was a FAUX SATIN - dark silver paint.
