I guess I did not research this fixture thoroughly enough. The outside portion of the fixture (where the light shines through) is PLASTIC, NOT GLASS.

We have a modern style home. We looked everywhere for a fixture that complimented the lines of our house.
these are great fixtures. Good quality, easy to install. for the money, you cant go wrong. Given anther opportunity to purchase-I would.
