Napoleon was on campaign in Egypt in 1799 when his wife Josephine bought the chateau of Malmaison near Paris. She hired architects Percier and Fontaine to decorate in a style that would later become known as French Empire. The styles simple, strong lines recall motifs of the Roman Empire and has been appreciated for over two centuries at Malmaison.

Pier mount also includes an adapter and instructions for post mount application. Rich Empire Bronze finish with solid brass accents and frosted beige glass.
