I ordered this light to complement similar outside porch lights, which it does beautifully. The base design, however, has a trough around the entire perimeter which would be prone to collect dirt, insects and water. I sealed the base around the glass globe with brown calk, and that took care of the problem. The designers should have taken that problem into account in their design - after all it is an outside fixture.
