This is a very nice, unique ceiling light fixture appropriate for a entry way or small area where not a lot of light is needed. I thought that it would take up to a 100 watt bulb but discovered that it could only use up to 60 watt so a bit dimmer than I had anticipated. However, I was able to put a 14 watt(60 watt) energy saver florescent in it & achieve a nice amount of light. The entire light is quite small so really not meant for a larger room or entry.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

With our low ceilings, this makes for a great low profile, attractive light fixture. Gives off good light. Looks Fabulous! Fairly easy to replace light bulbs. Affordable & not your standard Ceiling fixture.
