I had heard that Xenon lamps were hot, not as even as fluorescents and used more energy. However, the fluorescent fixtures that our electrician installed were harsh, cold, and threw too much light into our living space. So, I tested one of these. I found that it doesn't get excessively hot, and is a pleasing warm color. The fixture is well made, in fairly thick stainless steel, but some of the breakout holes in the back were not carefully precut and were a pain to punch loose. Still I recommend these fixtures—pretty reasonably priced and attractive. We thought we would hook them up to a dimmer wall switch, but since the fixture switches have high and low settings we have found we don't need a dimmer wall switch after all.

My electrician hard wired 6 of these units under my kitchen cabinets along with dimmer switches for each bank of lights. Love the lights and the ability to adjust them any way I want. We got the dark bronze color because my cabinets are dark and the units are not completely concealed. I may add a small piece of moulding to the bottom of my cabinets to hide the fixtures completly even though I don't think others would notice. Very pleased with the lighs.

Not nearly bright enough and is much hotter than my old fluorescent fixture.
