This fixture is of very poor quality. The shades did not fit correctly in base, there were no instructions for installation to even explain the ill-fitted fixture.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This fixture DOES NOT hang horizontally. The glass shades sag. The quality was OK. What did I expect for $40? I expected the style that the photo showed! I will be returning it.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
