The globe came broken. But the globe construction itself was paper thin and very fragile. Packing was bad but still opriginal glass was very thin to bigin with.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • Q: How long is the cord that comes with it? I'm thinking to put 5-7 globes together into a low voltage box and make a big fixture for a foyer.

    A: The 10" globe from Progress has a 50" cord. There are cord extenders you can purchase if that is not long enough.
