This light is extremely dim for having two 60 watt lightbulbs in it. And it also gets very hot.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Even after reading reviews that mentioned the "dimness" of this lighting fixture, I was so enamored of its appearance that I bought it anyway. Actually I bought two. The one I installed on my porch is perfect for that location...just the right amount of ambient light for my 1905 Craftsman home. The other I installed in my bathroom and, as much as I love the "feeling" of it, I will need to add more lighting over the mirror. So, if you like ambience, go for it. If you need a more well lighted space, a different fixture might be a better choice. But all in all, I am very happy with the quality and beauty of this fixture!

I enjoy this light, but the glass is more opaque than I'd imagined, which makes it quite dim. Use this as moodlighting only. The glass didn't fit perfectly, so we added weatherstripping on the inside of the flush mount at the top to prevent the "leakage" of bright light around the top.
