This light is very sensitive to motion. Almost too sensitive. Had to turn the sensitivity dial down to almost nothing to keep it from coming on and staying on all the time. It's also a very bright light, which is somewhat blinding unless you turn the light downward rather than outward.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was disappointed that this light is three different shades of white. The lamp, base and motion detector are all different. Other then the color issue I think this light works well and emits sufficient light.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
