This light was just okay. The bigger version which I saw at the store, I absolutely loved, but it was like $950.00, so I opted for the smaller version, which fits perfect in our house, but does not have the same effect. I would go for the bigger one if you are thinking of buying this light.

This piece is very solid. One thing that is not abundantly clear from the photos: the bottom horizontal piece is frosted glass rather than the alabaster glass that comprises the main body. I think this works though, as otherwise the alabaster would reduce the light too much. The light from this fixture is very soft however. I love the look of this piece; it's a modern form in a more historical material. I actually installed a pair of them in a longish room that is my office/dressing room. They look great. If you plan to install this yourself, plan on resting it on something near the ceiling level (for me, a subwoofer on top of my ladder) or having a helping hand. Otherwise, you will have the weight hanging by the wires as you are attempting to connect them. With that worked out, installation is really easy. Overall great materials, very solid construction, well packaged (unlikely to be damaged in transit), and great light distribution. I love it and would recommend to a friend.
