Fixture is too short to enclose the intended light bulb, which projects annoyingly. Come on guys, a little care in the design and this would be an exceedingly attractive fixture.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I'm using six of these (with a dimmer) as uplights illuminating a large, high vaulted ceiling which has crossing, braced cypress beams. These fixtures are ideal for the purpose - they are simple, elegant, deep enough to hide the bulbs and have high enough wattage rating for plenty of light. Installation was straightforward and easy.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
