The quality of the product is less than our original light, but it is understandable because it is MADE IN CHINA! We had not installed it, but checked it out first with a fluorescent tube we had on hand--a good thing, because it did not fit! On checking with our local hardware, etc., they do not stock this odd #.
It is not worth installing it and looking further for the bulbs.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Provides a great deal of bright light and length options are available. Used in a kitchen over the sink workspace and window, as very few alternatives exist for such areas. Would like to see more products other than flourescent lighting and bathroom vanities for such an installation. End cap was damaged in shipment, but was able to bend it back without difficulty. Recommend better packaging for the product.
