I bought five of these a few years ago and have found that not a one has held up - the grating around the glass is easily disturbed and broken. I'd like to blame this on my electrician but it seems a quality issue rather than sheer incompetence. Don't bother unless you have money to replace lighting every 5 years.

Beware- although the name of this product is "Gun Metal", the color is not metallic at all. The picture in the catalog shows it metallic. Well, it's not. It's a matte, black-anodized looking finish, which doesn't go at all with the rest of the hardware around my door, nor will it ever reflect light. Money NOT well spent.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
