The item is exactly what we had been seeking. It is attractive & functional. The fixture has spaces for 5 numerals. Our home address has 3 digits. It was not until after we had the product that it was discovered I needed to order 2 blank panels - our 3 house numbers and 2 blanks to complete the look. So the $4 order had a $15 shipping charge. ouch! This may be helpful to others.

I was hesitant to buy these, thinking they would look very cheap. I figured I would keep them for a year or so then swap them out for something nicer. However, when these arrived, I was very pleasantly surprised to see how terrific they look. Very sturdy and high quality--a bargain find and a keeper.

This lamp was chosen after looking at many installed lights, to replace traditional "carriage lamp" style lamps. In contrast to the existing lamps, we wanted something clean and uncluttered, that gave lots of light, but that blended harmoniously with a traditional-style home. We also wanted to be able to reach up into the lamp to replace the bulb, and we wanted a standard, widely available bulb type, so they would be easy to maintain.

The electrician who installed the lamps was impressed by their solid quality. Their large size looks balanced on a traditional two-story home. They give the house an updated, clean look without being too edgy for the style of the house. The design, with glass both above and below the lamp, allows for upward and outward illumination and gives brilliant light. You can choose more illumination with a clear bulb or softer light with a frosted bulb, because the lamp is clear glass.

A good quality, usable, good-looking lamp suitable for most homes.

We recently updated our master bathroom, and purchased 4 of these single sconces. They are used as lighting on either side of each vanity mirror. The simple design can easily compliment many different decor styles, and they were very easy to install. All 4 came in excellent condition, and were shipped quickly.

We were a little concerned that single sconces would not provide enough lighting for the vanity area in our bathroom, so we tried different wattages of bulbs. The sconces will take up to 100 watt bulbs, but we finally settled on 60 watts each. In other words, having enough light is not a problem, and these sconces could accommodate more light than we need.

We are very satisfied customers, and I would highly recommend this product and www.lightinguniverse.com to anyone looking for lighting products.

This a beautiful seeded glass sconce that will work in any room. I have one in the bathroom. Two in my son's bedroom and one in my stairwell. It will go with almost any decor and looks interesting unlike alot of other lights out there right now. The bronze and silver are great!

We mounted these on a short, 3" post above a wide column (entrance gate).
Problem is that you cannot get to the screws on the bottom of the lamp base to tighten up the globe, so be careful! I had to solve the problem by drilling new holes through the side of the base to insert new clamping screws. It is not nearly as good, and I hope it works when we have a big wind! If this was mounted on a naked pole with at least 6" of clearance, there would not have been a problem.
Also, the base is plastic and they just predrilled holes and stuck in metal tapping screws. The screws are very difficult to screw in and there is a danger that by holding the globe too tightly while trying to tighten the screws, you will crack it.

They're not the best looking lights in the world, but they sure do the job. After searching for weeks I can say that these are the only readily available photo-cell outdoor security lights that take a standard screw-in bulb, so that you can use compact fluorescents. So if that's what you're looking for, look no further.

The lamp is excellent and of good quality. The only disappointment was attachment of the ceiling box cover. The spherical nuts used for the attachment made it impossible to tighten the cover flush with the ceiling - a trip to the hardware store remedied this.

Be sure to measure before you order this pendant lamp. It is very large. We hung it above our dining area with compact florescent bulbs for enery savings. Love that when you glance up, guests do not look into light bulbs, but a soft diffused glow from 3 bulbs of lamp through creamy glass.

I shopped far and wide on the web before deciding on this fixture and was prepared to send it back if I didn't like it. For the money it's a great deal and adds great light to my bathroom makeover. It is sleek, fits our new energy efficent bulbs and updates the bathroom with a more contemporary feel. I had a friend install it and he had no complaints. All parts arrived in tact, delivery was sooner that predicted. All in all a great deal and fabulous result.

The fixture did exactly what I wanted - an updated look for very little expense. We plan to sell our house in the near future and are trying to make it more saleable. This fixture will help!
When it arrived, there was one glass panel broken. I called customer service and received a new fixture in very little time.

This is a lovely fixture at a reasonable price. The bulb has easy access and it is easy to install. It looks like a hanging lantern but it is welded together so that it doesn't blow around in a strong wind. I bought two in white for carriage lights one either side of my garage. They really brighten up the house.

The Outdoor Pendant #6023 is a very attractive fixture for the porch ceiling of my New England Victorian rental property. It came with the option of pendant or flush mount, was easily installed by the electrician, and casts ample light on the premises. In handling the product, the workmanship and weight reveal excellent quality. Overall, I am very pleased with the selection. This June I under took The Re-model, and Re-landscape of my Streng Brother's Modern Classic Home.My goal was to bring it back to an original showcase as it was in the 60's-70's.After a lot of research and planning I have reached my goal !.When it came to the exterior lighting ,the only choice I was left with,was the round white globe lights for that time! .Not happy ,I looked around and finally found Lighting Universe and the perfect lights !.
fixture # 8341 in white.They look great next to the light grey on the house and white painted eves.They light up the lower front of the house ,while the top of the fixture shines on the Eves with no light in your eyes when you drive up.
I am extreamly happy with the style of the fixture and plan to Install the same

This is my second large light fixture be Sea Gull Lighting.
I am impressed by the quality and design.
I don't understand why EnergyStar fixtures are about
double the price of similar looking reqular bulb fixtures.
The extra bulb and ballast cost seem excessive.
I loved the design so I selected the fixture.

The instructions for installation were useless. Not the best design for installation once we figured it out (lots of iterative adjustments). I really like the way it looks which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. I wouldn't suggest an amatuer try the installation. I haven't tried changing the light bulbs yet, could be tricky...

I am a Master Electrician and I install alot of lights. In comparison to other vanity lights, this light was extremely flimsy and did not hold up to even the most gentle treatment during installation. This surprised me a bit, because Seagull usually manufactures quality lighting. This particular vanity fixture is of poor quality and I would recommend buying something else.

We like the style and look of the chandelier--it's very sturdy and well made. Two problems: 1) the installation was VERY difficult due the the material from which the chain is made. The instructions simply said, "using two pairs of pliars, bend the chain link and attach" with no picture as to how this was to be accomplished. The chain is made of very rigid hard metal that was literally impossible to bend which increased the installation time by at least an hour; and 2) there chips on the rims of two of the glass covers--one had two chips. To avoid the hassle of returns, etc. we were able to turn them inside so the chips are less noticable, but we were disappointed that they were damaged, especially for the price.

Looks nice, but construction is odd--barely enough room to install the wires without pinching them, and no insulation at all. Oddly, says not to install on insulated surfaces, and neither I nor the electrician could figure out what that meant.

This item is perfect in our new kitchen. The brushed nickel finish is a bright,"true" light gray color. (sometimes fixtures are nickel over bronze and take on a slight brown tone. It gives off so much light that we are putting in a dimmer switch for times when we want a quieter tone to the room. The only problem we had was in the shipping. The box was actually torn open on one corner from top to bottom. I thought for sure there would be pieces missing, but it was so well packed that everything was intact. The round light had two of the square corners smashed, but it too was well packed and not a scratch or dent in it. I am very happy with the product and the service. It was also priced right.

I bought three of them for over my kitchen island. I have a high, slanted ceiling and did not want to use chain - I bought an extra stem for each light. The canopy did not have a "ball joint" for the slant so I did have to use one chain link. I did not expect this snafu, but the lights are wonderful and worth the inconvenience this missing info caused!

It is the wraparound lens cover that is not what I expected. I thought it would be a hard shiny white glass-like acrylic material, and it is rather flimsy flexible material. I will not use it in the location originally planned for it, because I wanted a sharper sleeker light fixture there. I have many other Sea Gull fixtures, so the name brand was an attraction in my purchase decision. The wait was more than 5 months.

Well built all stainless outside light with ONE bad feature. The metal bails that go under the globe apparantly are NOT stainless and failed at the bottom "x" weld due to corrosion. If you don't care about the bail, overall it's a decent fixture, but a bit pricy. One of mine survived being backed into by a semi-trailer and was easily bent back ito shape. Before that time, however, the bails had failed on that one and its twin.

In the last 5 years, we have replaced all of our 1940/1970s lighting fixtures with Seagull Manor House fixtures from Lighting Universe. In my kitchen, I purchased pewter fixtures; dining room we went with the wrought iron/black. They are a bit more than what you would spend on standard fixtures in a Big Box store (though still affordable), but they are so elegant. I have never regretted opting for more expensive lighting in our renovation projects. The Manor House lighting is stately; with the seeded glass -- they look like antique reproductions. We have compliments all the time. I do recommend that you purchase the extra globes for the large lights in case you break one and they are discontinued in the future. We have one of each on hand!

The instructions included seemed to be for a different light (though I didn't need them) and the bracket enclosed was for a round work box only and I had installed rectangular, but I was able to make it work. The quality of the material is better than I expected for the price.

We recently renovated a dowdy bathroom by painting it a nice bright color and replacing the old light bar with this fixture. It is wonderful--offers plenty of light, looks very chic, was easy to install--and updated the bathroom appearance for a very reasonable price.

The pendants look great over my island. The only negative comment I have is I was not able to adjust the lamps to the hight I wanted.
It came with three 12 inch tubular sections, which would have been fine if I needed 12 or 24 inches. I needed 18. Some other lamps come with different size tubing for more options on length. That was the only drawback I had. Other than that I am very pleased with the product.

This is a very beautiful fixture, but a warning to all, the compact fluorescent bulbs (included, and not replacable with other types) stick out from the bottom of the shade. I've never seen bulbs stick out from a shade before. It's very unattractive. The picture on this website shows a glow coming from the middle of the shade, but that's not what it looks like in person. There will be a darkness within the shade until near the bottom. I would not recommend.

We ordered 6 pendant lights. Each one had a small crack where the rod meets the pendant cup. After carefully installing, all the pendants hung crooked~very noticably so. We are returning them without replacing since there were 6 items, all defective, we do not want to chance receiving & having to return them again. The people at Lighting Universal are great & I would definitley order from them again. I think it was a manufacturers problem.

I agree with other reviews in as much as directions are poor at best. Quality left something to be desired. When I unpacked priduct the top bullet had packing marks, like it was stored in plastic a long time. Had to use mineral spirits to get marks off.
Should have checked bottom bullet at that time! Had fixture completely installed and went to screw on bottom bullet when I noticed some very dark marks on top of it's rim. Turns out they were runs in the coating which took lacquer thinner to remove.

The light fixtures I ordered were very easy to install. The service department is very cooperative and are interested in customer satisfaction. All who have seen the new lights have been impresssed with the quality and size of the fixtures. Shipping was fast and easy. We have purchased lights made by Seagull in the past, and have been very pleased with the quality, style and price. So when we decided to replace our outdoor porch lanterns, we looked at Seagull first. This is a well made, sturdy, attractive light, and the bulb is very easy to replace from the opening underneath.
