Nicely made, but has only 8 watts of light which produces very weak illumination in a very
small section of my painting. Very disappointing for such an expensive item.

After much effort charging the batterier on the four lights I bought (they all came uncharged contrary to advertisement), I screwed them in place, turned them on just before my party and they lasted 3 houors!! Advertised as 9 hours. Now I have to unscrew them, charge them and screw them back onto the frames!! Easier to have an electrician accomodate an electric light! Furthermore, the light bulb hardly did the job.

The picture light I purchased beautifully illuminates a large painting I bought last year. The light is an unusual 40 inches wide, which was impossible to find in any local store. Thanks to LightingUniverse my lighting dilemma was solved in a very short time.

We purchased 11 Orbit Pendant lights. The ordering process was a breeze and the communication was excellent. We knew the status of our order from the onset. The fixtures arrived in excellent condition, they were very well packaged and they arrived on time. Our contractor will be placing orders with the Allied Trade Group because of his experience with these fixtures. His standard lighting supplier told him it would take 4 weeks for delivery, Allied's arrived within two weeks. Good Job! Excellent service.

The light works excellently. I had originally purchased a couple of battery-powered versions, but they didn't provide enough light. This one is just right, and you don't have to worry about replacing batteries. The downside is that you have to contend with the cord. My only complaint with the product is the packaging -- the two light bulbs are wedged into the assembly for shipping, and the protective clear plastic takes almost fifteen minutes to carefully peel off the light without scratching the brass finish. Be sure to get the right size light, perhaps a little larger than is recommended. I got a 14" light for an oil painting which is 20" wide by 15" high (28" x 23" with frame), and it provides the correct amount of light.

I bought this light to match one I already had. The local retail store that carries this brand required a 50% down payment and anticipated a 6-8 week wait. They charged full retail. I received the light from Lighting Universe in a few days, at a discount price and no charge for shipping, Excellent!
It offers the options of mounting on the wall or on the picture frame. Make sure the screws are not too long when mounting to the frame and stick out through. It can be hard wired or used with the cord and transformer that comes with the light. There is an in line rotary switch on the cord. There are adjustable tube covers over the bulbs so you can have some control over where the light shines. This adjustment is a bit limited to pictures that are 30" or less in height. If the tubes are turned further, you will be able to see the bulbs. Halogens are very bright and irritating to my eyes, if looking at an exposed bulb. These bulbs get very hot. You do not want to touch the light fixture when it's on. It puts a natural colored light on your picture. The fixture projects out approximately 8" from the mounting bracket and around 6" in height. The bulbs can be expensive and their life seems to vary from long term to short. The rotary switch on my older light needs replacement. I've noticed that it does not make a positive switch to on or off and the switch is heating up. Easy enough to replace. When using the cord, there is a transformer that plugs into your wall recepticle. I don't know if these can be dimmed when hard wired to a wall switch.
The light really makes a statement for your art. It brings out the colors and accentuates the piece. I find myself staring at my paintings instead of the TV. It also makes for nice mood lighting. The fixture comes well packaged, wired and ready to plug in.

The only complaint I had is that it did not include the mounting hardware (2 screws). That wasn't a big deal but I believe the instructions indicated they would be included.

Bottom-line - I would order these lights again.

I have just began using this light fixture and have clipped it to the top edge of my Samsung 172-T Flat Panel Monitor.
I am impressed with the finish on the shade and th over all workmanship.
Only small negative is that the end cap removes so a bulb can be changed and when replaced and the lamp is lit it leaks light from around the conneciton. I fixed this very nicely with some black electrical tape that blends right in with the lamp finish.
It lights up my keyboard very nicely - It's extremly adjustable and I would recommend this lamp to anyone.

Looks nice, good quality, except it's difficult to get the lamps to stay exactly level.
Difficult to install.
-- The plastic screw anchors for wallboard broke and I had to run to Home Depot for better ones.
-- To attach the lamps to the wall, we had to pull the loose ends of bolts through holes in the mounting plate. The bolts were trapped inside a metal box, so no way to hold or guide them. My wife finally tied thread to the ends of the bolts to fish them them through the holes. Only a woman could solve the problem or design the !#@! mounting plate in the first place. 8-)

Picture on web site doesn't do it justice. It's beautiful. Had no instructions w/ it. Wasn't too hard to figure out how to mount it on the painting. I had great difficulty getting one of the four light bulbs screwed in because of lack of space in fixture for fingers to manipulate and one of the sockets seemed not to be straight. All that being said, it makes our Thomas Kincaid painting look like it's in an exquisite gallery.

I like the look of the fixture. However, I was hoping it would control the direction of the light better than it does. For the light to hit the center of the image I would have to turn the entire bulb & reflector down to where the bulbs are then visible when walking by and the glare is annoying. So, in compromise, I have to settle for the hot spot to be at the top of the image.

I didn't want an electrical cord hanging from behind a painting we have so I purchased this picture light because it was battery operated and the spec's say it will last up to 25 hours on one set of batteries. The LED light is much brighter than I expected which is good. We don't use the picture light very often so the 25 hour life is acceptable but if you use the light often you'll be changing batteries (4 AA's) regularly. It's easy to operate and the "gold" color looks like "antique gold" rather than shiny gold. One drawback is that it is all plastic so it's a bit flimsy but once you set up the light the quality looks OK unless you actually touched it so that wasn't a big issue for me. The other drawback is that it is designed to attach to the wall only. I was able to add some shims, reversed the screw direction and attach it to the picture frame back and it works fine. I rated the value fairly high because it served my needs and eliminates the unsightly hanging cord.

Beautiful fixture but DON'T have your electrician wire it into the wall until he/she can see the fixture first. The unique design at the point the fixture meets the wall does not allow it to be installed on existing J-boxes. The back plate must be recessed into the wall.

I did a lot of searching to find the perfect light for a prized painting. This one fit the bill! I chose the antique brass finish. I debated between the low-voltage and the line voltage and chose the later. I’ve had trouble with transformers recently and tend to shy away from fixtures that use them.
I mounted the fixture to the wall which made installation simpler. The design could be improved by adding a horizontal and vertical adjustment before you tighten the screws but if you measure carefully (use a level) and drill precisely, you won’t have any trouble.
It’s a very simple, elegant and understated way to light a piece of art.

We have a lot of lighted art work throughout our home. The Advent Gemini Picture Light provides the best lighting with the least shadowing of all the different ones we use; e.g., uplights, downlights, adjustable recessed cam lighting. We would highly recommend this light for any type of wall art. The thin arc extending the light over the piece doesn't interfere with the view at all.

I changed the light socket to one that had a rotary switch. This way I can turn the light off right at the light itself. I had to drill a hole in the end of the light for the switch and to mount the new socket. But it worked well. Very happy with the light being made here in the U.S. So tired of most everything from China. Try to buy USA products all the time.

The piano lamp on our grand piano provides the proper lighting to read the sheet music.

Why do I call it a "tipsy" piano lamp? A few hours after using the lamp, the right side (where the on-off switch is) has tipped down and ends up about four inches LOWER than the left side. I raise the right side so that the lamp is again level and it stays there -- for another few hours. And then the right side again ends up about four inches LOWER than the left side. Said another way, on its own, the lamp rotates clockwise about thirty degrees over the period of a few hours and comes to rest in that tipped position.

I know, you don't believe me. No one else does, either.

Excellent product and looks great on our church's new Yamaha Clavinova. Plenty of light, and the 14" width covers the entire music rack. The only thing we have a problem with is the placement of the power switch. It needs to be more accessible. Due to the height of the music rack, the pianist has to stand up, reach over the rack (or lower the rack) to have access to the power switch. Truly a beautiful lamp, and adds a lot of class to the piano.

After installing four of the fixtures we had one that had a center lamp that wouldn't light. So we had to remove the fixture and take the bad socket apart and found the screws where the wires were connected to the socket were loose. Hopefully the other 19 sockets (five to a fixture) were wired better or I will be very dissapointed with these fixtures.

It is a little over priced for the quality of the product, but it dose serve its purpose. Very light, and use mounting table or small screws which are both included. It gives of enough light for under cabinets, above a mirror, or could work as a picture light. Soft white/yellow light, much better then that pale blue light that comes from most LED bulbs.

This product is just what we needed. It's the right size for a console piano, and the construction is sturdy. The gooseneck is just right for seeing your music.
The only draw back is it needs a 40 watt bulb. A 60 would be more to my liking, but overall we are very pleased.

I really loved the antique look of this piece. It came extremely well packaged and I loved the weathered brass patina as soon as I saw it. The only downside was that the light fixture itself was welded just ever so slightly askew that it made the fixture appear crooked when attached to the frame. It was easy enough to adress this problem. We love this light in the small room where it is used as it provides a unique detail and soft attention to an otherwise unnoticed print.

I will start with the one good feature, it is beautiful. However, I am in the process of replacing it. The light does not shine brightly enough to illuminate both pages of music and I am using the recommended 60W light bulb. The second intolerable feature is that the light bulb indiscriminately vibrates when the note "A4" (440Hz) is played. This is the frequency the piano is tuned to! Oh, and the light bulb is extremely difficult to change. I am completeley dissatisfied.

These Slimline picture lights are extremely well constructed, and look great in either a traditional or contemporary setting. I probably have 15 or 20 of them, if not more. They're great when you add a cord dimmer to tone the lighting down just a bit. Highly recommended, and made in America to boot.

This lamp is heavy and sturdy, but the "candles" are too short. One can see the top of the "candles" when the lamp is sitting on a table. Also, I assumed that there would be sockets for 3 light bulbs, instead of just one. If you ae standing in the room then the lamp looks great.

The construction is solid and although the light replacement access is a bit restricted I'm pleased with the light. In fact, I'm buying another one.

I bought this light for my 50" vertical piano. The light is bright but not harsh and perfectly lights up the music and keyboard. It blends in perfectly with my black piano and isn't obtrusive at all. It's just what I was hoping for.

We built a new home out of rock and brick to look like an English Manor. It took weeks looking at hundreds of wall sconces on-line, to find the perfect ones for our Bar Room. Everyone that comes in our home comments about these sconces being so lovely. The quality is also superb.
